So, got out at a bit before 10 last night. The server is back up (with logins disabled), we lost all mail from a 1.5 day period, and we're still running other tests to make sure that the data from backup isn't corrupt. I'm working from home today to watch Elayna, but will probably spend most of the day on the phone dealing with this. At least if this shit was going to happen, Memorial Day was about as slow a day as could be.

Oh, and Alan bought Trish and I dinner at Doc Chey's to make up for keeping us late. Mmm, Singapore Noodles. :-)

I am livid at Elayna right now. She called me out for help with the DVD of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I take a look at it -- it's fucking destroyed. She's obviously dropped it and cracked it. On both sides, so even the fullscreen version is ruined.

True, I've been wanting to get the 25th anniversary edition, but not enough to want to replace this one.

I've explained to her that from now on, when she mistreats a DVD or CD (especially one that's actually mine or [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's or mine), she'll be responsible for replacing it, and if that means that we have to sell something of hers, so be it.

So I'm looking at the special offers flyer in my Eddie Bauer catalog. And there's a tacky looking American Flag picture frame for $10 (which we so need to get [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's dad for Father's Day). And in fine print there's one key word:

Imported.

So, Comics Continuum is reporting that a bunch of CrossGen titles are being delayed, this time because of an error at Quebeccor (their printer). It's amazing. CrossGen missed deadlines because "Diamond switch policies", or because of an alleged printer error, but they still insist they've never been late.

Then again, maybe the fact that Mark Alessi is an ignorant asshole colors my view of anything he says. There are plenty of honest ignorant assholes, after all. I should probably give him the benefit of the doubt.

So the server is technically up and running. But we're now having problems with the internet routing. When it rains it pours.
