We're going to be kicking it up a notch in Atlanta. Much as I can't stand the guy, the idea of another good restaurant in Atlanta is a good thing. :-)

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] deza, I'm not sure I'll have to go hunting for tests ever again. :-)

Anyway, here's the latest:

What Type of Villain are You?

That last test (the Villain test) actually contains spoilers for a couple of movies (most notably Unbreakable). So be careful.

Thing I never thought would happen #242:

Having to explain to Elayna that shouting, "I love gummies" is not appropriate in a cube farm.

Dude. Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler in the next X-Men movie. Damned fine casting (especially since he'll get the accent right), even if he'll obviously be one of the older X-men.

Actual quote from Elayna to the computer:

"It's supposed to be a pillow fight, not a pillow smack!"

All I can say is, thank Zuul for cartoonnetwork.com and the various PowerPuff Girl games that are there (she's currently playing the skiing game). It's actually been a decently productive morning (with the obvious occasions, "I'm a winner" or other shout being the major distraction).

So I get to the building at 2 for my 2:30 presentation, mainly because I was supposed to sit down with the folks in the office to go over some stuff, and I wanted to do it before, not afterwards.

It's room 613. I get in, and head to the sixth floor. I looked around. All the rooms had numbers like "6002." I figured I'd fucked up, and headed to the basement (assuming it'll be "0613"). When I got there, the basement was locked -- it was for service only. I went to 1, but all rooms were "1xxx." Nothing resembling a directory in this building. So I went back to 6, and searched around some more. Finally, I find a little back-corridor. And I see a room numbered "601." This looks like a corridor out of a Nightmare on Elm Street Dream Sequence. I wander down it, and lo and behold, there's room 613!

So now that I'm there, it turns out that 617 (the classroom) has a bad net connection, so we wait while they make some calls, and there's a room free. In the Hospital. So we walk about a mile, and come to the classroom. The P1 in the back is hooked into the projector, but it took their classroom tech ten minutes to get things up, because the ceiling-mounted projector has had its remote stolen, so they had to climb on a table to change settings.

FInally the Anesthesiolgy Assistant students come in (they had to be marched across campus, and don't have the familiarity with the campus that I do), and of course, there are more of them than seats. But the demo itself, once it gets started, goes fine, at least. Except that the screen is at the front of the room, and the students at the back, so I had to talk from behind them, like a lecturer, which I hate. But I finally (just now) made it out of there, at least.

And there's more to gripe about with the whole demo (not least of it being that Kathy was supposed to do it, but is closing on a house, and tossed it my way this morning), but I'm too tired to do so.
