Well, hell

Bad: After getting to bed at 11:30 or so, I woke up at 2 something. Have been up ever since. I read a volume of The Invisibles, watched MTV2's "Controversial Videos" specail (finally saw that Prodigy video), and am now wearing down enough that I'll be trying bed again soon. But I'll be a wreck all day tomorrow, since I doubt I'll get my eight hours.

Worse: Tomorrow (and that really means today, Sunday, of course) is my last free day for three weeks. Back to School starts this week. That means that work will be busy as hell (don't count on much LJing on my part) during the week. And I'll be working Saturday and Sunday all day as well. Followed by more work the next week, followed by Dragoncon, which does not quallify as destressing, thank you very much. Not that I won't enjoy seeing everyone, but it tends to be a stressy time anyway (I do not react well to large crowds, as I may have mentioned), and the timing just sucks. That's followed by another week of work hell. Fun.

So, if the only entries I leave on LJ over the next few weeks all say "fuck off and die," don't take it personally.

Anyway, off to bed before Elayna wakes up.

Awake

For those who didn't figure it out, I'm awake. And have been so since before 9. So yeah, don't think I'll be up too late tonight.

Wow. When your incredibly popular girlfriend pimps your writing in her LJ, people just come out of the woodwork. Welcome to [livejournal.com profile] skylion, [livejournal.com profile] mister_wolf (who joins [livejournal.com profile] wolfieboy and the recently-added [livejournal.com profile] wolvy in a concerted effort to make my life confusing), [livejournal.com profile] ginnymarie, and [livejournal.com profile] pinballsorceror, all of whom added me as a friend within the last hour or so. :-)

There are lots of other folks I need to extend welcomes to, but I'm terrible at tracking when folks add me, so I'm not sure who I need to welcome in addition. So welcomes for everyone (they're cheaper than party favors).

Wow.

According to sfbc.com, people who bought The Amazing World of Carmine Infantino also bought . . . The Amazing World of Carmine Infantino!

Who'd have thunk it?

And welcome to [livejournal.com profile] missrachael, who may or may not have come over from [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's lj, as we've got something like ten mutual friends. :-)

Me: Miss Kid has informed me that she likes pineapple juice.

[livejournal.com profile] shadesong: There's such a thing?

She was dead serious. My girlfriend's weird.

I'd love it if two of my favorite authors, Judy Blume and Terry Pratchett, were to collaborate on a novel. Because Are you there, God? It's me, Magrat is a book that's just begging to be written.

Anyway, the latest Chud column is up at http://www.chud.com/news/aug02/aug18indiecomic.php3 -- I've taken a look at indy comics for kids, something I may end up repeating once a month, since there's a wealth of stuff out there.
