So, we hit Deland today for some shopping. This included two bookstores. The first had nothing of interest. Or so I thought. But while [livejournal.com profile] shadesong was checking out with some purchases for Elayna, I wandered outside to see the $.50 cart. And there, staring at me, is a hardcover copy of a Karen Elizabeth Gordon book that I'd never seen before -- Intimate Apparel: A Dictionary of the Senses! Woohoo! A find, even at a higher price!

Then we hit the good used bookstore. Four rooms worth of books. Their used SF/Fantasy section is larger than almost any other store's new genre section. I forced myself to skim, if only because otherwise, I'd still be there.

But I still found five Neal Barrett, JR books. All sci-fi, all long out of print and books I thought I'd never see (well, other than the Judge Dredd adaptation, which I only bought for the sake of completeness). We also bought other nifty books. Including The Pushcart War, which Elayna must read (and which I must read again, of course).

Anyway, we'll soon be heading to dinner with [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's birth family and her adoptive family at the Macaroni Grill. I'll just be along for the food. :-)
