Sorry I'm not home right now. . .
Aug. 18th, 2003 02:53 pm'cuz I really am walking into spiderwebs. There was a nasty one across the doorframe last night when I got home, and another one this morning. Plus yet another on the way to the bus stop. Fucking eight-legged freaks. Hate 'em.
Anyway, quick and dirty update:
Last night, played my first Magic sealed-pack games ever. Had some fun. It's like being an addict and rediscovering that high. Only less healthy.
This morning, we had to have a funeral, as Elayna's fish had died. She's down to one. I think this is the first one she's actually witnessed the funeral for. Poor kid. :-(
She also decided that she wanted to try the sloppy joes that the school was offering lunch today. I shudder at the thought of her poor shirt.
Interestingly, the alternative to sloppy joes was "chicken rings." I'm genuinely scared by the concept.
Work is hell. This is the start of my hellish stretch run. Thirteen straight days of work. I'll be frank: I'm behind on email, and on LJ, and have no chance of catching up. So I won't be reading LJ with any regularity for two weeks. It's nothing personal. I really do enjoy reading all of you. But I just won't have the time. I may pop on here and there, but you should assume that if you post something important, I'll miss it.
So if you need me, email me. I still may take forever to respond. But I'll at least read all email. Unless you email me quiz results. In which case I'll kill you dead.
You'll get your regular supply of happy fun DVD and comics news in about two weeks (although I may manage an update or three before then).
Anyway, I need to get back to work without ranting about all the work-related stuff I really want to rant about, alas.
