Sportswriting is still writing. In theory
Jan. 8th, 2004 08:43 amRob Dibble on Pete Rose: "It's got to be tortuous for Pete to wake up every day knowing that he is his own worst enemy. . ."
Yeah, Rob? The fact that you played baseball does not mean you're qualified to write about it.
(that said, I don't necessarily disagree with Dibble's argument. Certainly, any Hall of Fame that honors scum like Landis and Cobb can honor Rose. But as long as others -- like the Black Sox - are excluded, he doesn't belong, either. And he'll never belong back in baseball itself.)

Kings of Chaos appears to be down (you can log in, but no money or turns accumulate), and for some reason, Emory gets 404 errors when attempting to access Strife.
Not that today was likely to be a day with game distractions, as between Blackboard, LearnLink, and EOL, I've got a ton to do. But it'd be nice to have the occasional diversion. Hey,
tablesaw -- is everything okay on the
johnratite side of things?
And no, the superfast computer doesn't help, since I still need to do things that involve communicating with others, or writing, or other things that CPU speed doesn't affect.
Off to do more work (it's taken me twenty minutes to write this post, because all this damned work keeps interrupting me).
