Yes, another issue of Bookslut is out. And aside from my column (focusing on Michael Marshall Smith), you can find my rave review of Adam Freeman's Elated by Details, my rave review of Alexander Irvine's One King, One Soldier, and my I Think The Author Dropped Too Much X At a Rave review of China Miéville's Iron Council.

As always, the rest of the issue is worth reading as well. You'll find [livejournal.com profile] lizlet covering the various film adaptations of Nick Hornby books, Chris Zammarelli on the Lemony Snicket books, as well as all the usual good columns and reviews (although it looks as if [livejournal.com profile] hangingfire is taking the month off).

I'm not overly pleased with how the Smith column turned out -- my author focus columns just don't click for me the way my subgenre columns or rants do. *shrug* If it gets one more person to read Smith, though, I'll be pleased.

Yes, it might actually happen. Link ganked from [livejournal.com profile] slvrdream, who also points out the [livejournal.com profile] broadway_xml feed. Nifty!

Another Police Academy movie is in the works.

My favorite line from the article:

". . . the talent from the first seven features has expressed a keen interest in the revival"

Wow. What are the odds that Steve Guttenberg, Bubba Smith, and Michael Winslow would be available for work?

Wow. Just watched the trailer over here. A horror movie starring three of my all-time favorite starlets (Dina Meyer, Monica Potter, and Shawnee Smith), along with Cary Elwes and Danny Glover.

Yeah, it might blow, but I'll keep hoping for something good.

Warning -- the trailer has some really disturbing scenes.
