Yes, another issue of Bookslut is out. And aside from my column (focusing on Michael Marshall Smith), you can find my rave review of Adam Freeman's Elated by Details, my rave review of Alexander Irvine's One King, One Soldier, and my I Think The Author Dropped Too Much X At a Rave review of China Miéville's Iron Council.

As always, the rest of the issue is worth reading as well. You'll find lizlet covering the various film adaptations of Nick Hornby books, Chris Zammarelli on the Lemony Snicket books, as well as all the usual good columns and reviews (although it looks as if hangingfire is taking the month off).

I'm not overly pleased with how the Smith column turned out -- my author focus columns just don't click for me the way my subgenre columns or rants do. *shrug* If it gets one more person to read Smith, though, I'll be pleased.

I daresay you can't even call yourself a comics fan if you don't own it.

Oh, there must be someone out there. Maybe there are people who have read the Michael Marshall novels and haven't discovered the short stories, for instance. (_Lonely Dead_, the UK title for _Upright Man_ hit #2 in the hardback fiction best-seller list recently... there are a lot of people reading those ;))

hangingfire is getting eaten alive by wedding planning. However, I think I'm going to try and write something about Free Comic Book Day for this month. And I have got to get the next 2 installments of Buddha reviewed.
