Superman and Jesus
Sep. 3rd, 2004 11:16 amSo, the big controversy in the comics world is Marc "Overrated Tool" Millar's contention that Jim "Jesus" Caviezel will be playing Superman. Harry "Ain't I Cool?" Knowles disputes this, but Millar claims to have damned good sources.
Comics fans aren't sure if this is a good thing or not (although if Knowles and Millar get into a fight and bitch-slap each other to death, we all win -- it's sort of like the reverse of Aliens Vs. Predator). But if you think about it, the parts of Jesus and Superman aren't really that far apart. To wit:

Curious about how much of what was said about Kerry over the last four days was true (and in context?)? Check out this article. Turns out not everything was a lie or prevarication. John Kerry really is the junior senator from MA, for example.
Interesting news from http://www.electoral-vote.com/ (and regardless of where you stand politically, if you care about the election at all, you should be visiting them every day) -- Nader failed to qualify on a bunch of ballots, including Michigan and Oregon.
Classy, folks. When Dubya looks morally superior to you, you know you've achieved "thing found under a rock" status on the evolutionary scale.
