Spent last night handing out candy. I don't think we had as many trick or treaters as last year, but we still had quite a bunch. I kept the lights out and played the original Halloween at high blast while the kids came by. It might not have scared them, but it sure put me in the right mood.

Elayna spent two hours trick or treating, and scored more candy than she could even dream about eating.

We then watched the first Simpsons Treehouse of Horror ("Hey, Elayna, that guy reading The Raven was Darth Vader, you know.")

Watched this week's Rome, but was too exhausted for Prison Break. I was asleep before 11 for the first time in weeks.

Today's the first official day of our new re-organization at work. And I'm in desperate need of coffee.

Elayna's got a field trip to the zoo today.

So I warned her, "when you get to the zoo, don't try to roll up all the animals."

Yes, We ♥ Katamari has taken over our lives. Why do you ask?

Amidst the insanity yesterday, I forgot to mention that issue 4 of SMRT-TV is up, complete with new (and, as of today, officially dated) Zoinks! column!

You have thirty days to build an entire Space Knight.

Yes, it's time for NaNoROMmo.

Dire Wraiths need not enter.

So, I finally saw it this weekend, and was underwhelmed. Not just over the one thing that was spoiled, either (although I waited a few days to write this, as I wanted to be a bit calmer about that when reviewing it). Overall, a 2/2.5 star movie, which is good for a mainstream sci-fi movie, but way below what I expect out of Joss. Then again, it's the first movie he's actually directed, and only one of his previous four screenplays was really a winner. I'll still be there for his Wonder Woman.

Not a review, but a bunch of random thoughts, good and bad:

Gorram spoilers ahead. )

Max (older, smarter Chocolate Point Siamese): Hey, Jack, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop [livejournal.com profile] yendi's hand?

Jack (younger, dumber Tuxedo Cat): I don't know. Let's find out. One, two, three, four, five . . . . . . . .

(five minutes later)

Jack: 898, 899, 900, 901. . .

Me: Jesus Christ, cat, don't you ever get bored?

Jack: 905, 906, 907. . .

Me: Gah! Stop it! *yanks hand away*

Jack (continuing to lick his side, which was right below my hand): 912, 913, 914. . .

At least he didn't try chomping.
