Monday updates

Today's a busy day (meetings, project deadlines), so a host of updates, crammed into one post:

Mets: Well, things are still good, other than the fact that Victor Zambrano is in the rotation (and Aaron Heilman is not). But hey, that's only one guaranteed loss every five days. Not like that could possibly sink a team or anything.

KOL: In the last week or so, I've acquired a bunch of the items I've been looking for, including the Time Trappings, Bow Tux, and TPS. I've also ascended as a Disco Bandit, grabbing Tolerance of the Kitchen as my most recent perm skill.

Reading: George Alec Effinger: Live From Planet Earth. It's wonderful, and you should go read it. Now.

Visiting: gwynraven came to town on Saturday! Yay! We've introduced her to the joy of The Aristrocrats. She's here for another couple of days, and she'll be accompanying us to the Great Big Sea concert!

Anticipating: The Great Big Sea concert tonight. Yay! Here's hoping for A) lots of stuff from the new album, and B) either no opening act, or an opening act that's a lot better than the last one they had in Atlanta.

Elayna: Miss Kid is choosing not to go to the concert. Her choice -- she has her CCRT tests tomorrow, and didn't want to risk staying out late. It's not something we would have pressured her on (we didn't even broach the subject, as we'd promised her this concert months ago), but I'm proud of her for making a mature decision like that. She also spent a couple of hours yesterday in a lithography workshop at the Carlos Museum, which she enjoyed a lot.

Eating: At Bruster's yesterday, I had a flavor of ice cream called Monkey Madness. It was banana ice cream with swirls of marshmallow fluff and chocolate-covered peanut-butter balls (poor peanut-butter!). Damned tasty.

Cheap-ass, um, ass. And cleavage: Amazon is selling the widescreen edition of Aeon Flux for $14.96 (50% off). Plot not included.

Jets: Less than one week until they can prove, once again, that they can botch any draft, if given a chance.
