Blender has folded.

I'm not shocked; I haven't had to pay for a subscription in the five years I've read it (like fellow defunct Alpha product Stuff, it's regularly given away on freebie websites, usually a sign of a mag that needs to bump its circulation for ad purposes). Still this was the rare freebie mag that I would actually read. They offered some decent snark, and actually covered some decent music every once in a while.

Interesting... thanks for posting this.

[livejournal.com profile] warrior_priest just subscribed last month on a special $5/year deal.

He has not received a magazine...

I went through several rounds of interviews for a job there once, but didn't get the job. I guess it was the right thing, because I wouldn't have a job now if I HAD gotten it (actually, I probably wouldn't have had a job way before now what with its having changed hands a couple of times).

It's worth noting that even when I applied for the job, back in 2006ish, "my" desk would have been in the back of what appeared to be a supply closet. I'm guessing they were hanging on by a thread for awhile.
