I'm not shocked; I haven't had to pay for a subscription in the five years I've read it (like fellow defunct Alpha product Stuff, it's regularly given away on freebie websites, usually a sign of a mag that needs to bump its circulation for ad purposes). Still this was the rare freebie mag that I would actually read. They offered some decent snark, and actually covered some decent music every once in a while.

Date: 2009-03-27 08:29 pm (UTC)It's worth noting that even when I applied for the job, back in 2006ish, "my" desk would have been in the back of what appeared to be a supply closet. I'm guessing they were hanging on by a thread for awhile.
