In two months, Pat the Zombie will be released.

It's still a better idea than at least half the other monsterfied classics, like Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, or Middlemarch and Minotaurs, or All Quiet On the Western Front Except Holy Shit, Zombies!, or Nicholas Nickelback*, but I'm a little jaded about the entire classics/monster mashup concept at this point. Maybe if any of the books were actually good enough to work as something more than one-beat jokes, I'd be more of a fan.

*Okay, I made these last three up, but you know publishers are thinking about them. Also, adding Nickelback to any book has to make it scarier.

I'm stunned.

According to CBR, Dwayne McDuffie has died. If you enjoyed Static Shock or Justice League at all, you likely owe that enjoyment to him (if you're a comics fan, I'm assuming you're already familiar with his work). He's long been one of a handful of creators whose name guarantees my interest in a project, and he'd always been very accessible to fans. Like many of my favorite comics writers, I was a fan of his work (on Damage Control) long before I'd really learned to pay attention to the writing credits on a book, and I've actively followed his career for nearly two decades (even since the debut of Milestone Media).

Regarding your decision to run House a minute long last night but not build it into the programming schedule (thus ruining it for anyone who used a DVR):

Fuck you.

A lot.

Bonus: Not making the episode available on Hulu for eight days.

This is why people use bittorrent. And why I hope whichever executive made this decision is the one who greenlit Lone Star, and is thus a short-timer.

No love,
