My acting friends and I called him an actor's actor. We appreciated the heck out of him and his body of work. Lance Hendrickson falls in that category too.
A sad loss. A much better actor than so many of his co-stars. Perhaps, in part, because he couldn't just rely on his looks.
But, with 50 films, commercials, Streets, Amex... plus living to 97 and being married for 70 years to the same person - I think he counts as a big win.

I mean, with that FACE of his... he's lucky he got the work he did. Brilliant actor, but sadly, best as a character actor.
Maybe he should've been as big as Burr or Falk though. Yeah, at least as big as them.
