Today's Server Upgrade Day, so I'm not really online much, but in our whirlwind trip to NYC to visit Mom, we did a lot. Things I'll be Yelping later:

Positive:

Mesa Grill. Yeah, I still hate Bobby Flay for his TV work, but his food is damned good. I feel
like Tony Bourdain on that Vegas episode of No Reservations.

Sarabeth's Kitchen. It was one of my favorite brunch places twenty years ago, and remains yummy.

Norma's. Overpriced, but some damned fine food.

The Marvelous Wonderettes. Total fluff, of course (we don't need no stinking plot), but a talented cast and great songs made for an entertaining couple of hours.

Amtrak: The Acela Express was comfy and had electrical outlets. About as stress free as the experience gets.

Bolt Bus: Not the train, but for $13, it's hard to complain. Especially with free 'net and electricity.

Meh:

Five Napkin Burger: Food was edible, but way overpriced, and the kitchen seems lethally incapable of getting orders correct.

Sucktastically awful beyond all reason:

Doubletree Metropolitan: From top to bottom, one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in.

When your entire bus ticket including internet is cheaper than a hotel's ability to give you a day's worth of internet, the hotel has a problem.

I've eaten at 5 Napkin many times and never had a problem getting the correct order. I agree with you about the prices, but the 5 Napkin Burger itself is way more than edible and worth having at least once, in my opinion. I'm also a fan of the BLT salad.
