This one, much to my surprise, fired on all cylinders (at least, the comedy did -- the musical performance was the weakest this season).

The surprise reappearance of The Rock Obama was a blast. The smashing of the phone had us giggling like mad, and Jason Sudeikis's Biden was hilarious, as always. Jenny Slate does a great Olympia Snowe impression, too (although I don't see that as one they'll be needing to pull out very often..

The Gerard Butler monologue was damned funny, if predictable, and used his talents well.

Fuquay Satin's Grand Hoochie Skank Rosé was a good use of Kenan, but probably the weakest spot on the show.

Sports Time with Randy and Greg returned. Remember, Greg is not an alien. Dear lord, even by Bill Hader standards, this was filled with funny voices and faces. I'm sure this will get old eventually, but for now, I'm happy to see this one a few more times.

The Beauty and the Beast was painfully funny. "Although once in college I dated a menorah." We were giggling for about two minutes over that one.

Shakira's performance of "She Wolf" was weak. She showed off about two dance moves, and the song itself doesn't have much going for it. She seemed bored and uninterested in performing.

Weekend Update, of course, kicked ass. From the skewering of the media's coverage of Balloon Boy to the Two Gay Guys From New Jersey in the Military to the brilliant interpretation of Gerard Butler's message home, it was dead-on.

Of course, everyone knew that there would be a 300 sketch, and even after taking a shot at it in Weekend Update, the vast homosexual overtones of the film was the obvious target. And, as with The Two Gay Guys From New Jersey, using the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" theme was the way to go. Loved the fake abs.

What up with that? was a great use of Kenan, and also showed off Gerard Butler really well. Also, what a bizarre and funny use of a James Franco cameo. This was one of those surreal, weird sketches that SNL can pull off brilliantly ("Picabo Street!").

New Secretary was the closest thing to a dud. It was still funny, but it was kind of a typical Kristin Wiig character. Still, it was hard not to laugh at the mouse/donut confusion.

Shakira's second performance also kind of sucked.

Daveheart was a good conclusion.

Overall, a damned funny show, and much more of a team effort than one usually sees. The Bud Backstage flashbacks were also pretty funny, but I'm not counting them as a part of the show itself.

SNL hit rerun season until November, when we get an episode featuring Taylor Swift as both host and musical guest.

The surprise reappearance of The Rock Obama was a blast.

This skit is fun, but it really demonstrates how bad Armisen's Obama is. The Rock's is considerably better.

You're right, that one was pretty good. I really think the problem is that Armisen (who I like in most other things) is still trying to just do a bare imitation of Obama, rather than playing him as a distinct character (compare Poehler's Hillary Clinton, for example, where she really doesn't sound a thing like her).
