I've got both Glee albums, and have listened to all of the songs.

Their version of "You Can't Always Get What You Want" gets better every single time I listen to it. So do Colfer and Michele's duet on "Defying Gravity," True Colors" (Ushkowitz finally getting the chance to shine), and Riley's amazing "And I am Telling You I'm Not Going."

That said, there are few songs worth skipping on either album. Doubly so if you actually watch the show.

I agree with all of this.

:)

(PS - I think I watched "Sectionals" about a dozen times while I was sick this last weekend).

We get the first episode on E4 tonight at 9pm, and then they're airing the rest of the first season starting in January. Can't wait!

Well, here's the Guardian's discussion of the show today.

Jump was my favorite number to watch, but it's only ok on the listening. I'm shocked that Taking Chances has become one of my faves from the first disc!

Some of the music really only seem work with video, but a lot of them are just amazing songs, in their own right.

I still prefer Colfer's single version of "Defying Gravity" but that's probably almost certainly because I am a huge Kurt fangirl but it's still the best damn song on the first CD.

I have to wait until Christmas for Volume 2, though that doesn't prevent me from listening to it on YouTube.

McHale DOES need more leads.

Also, I am very sad that neither of the mashups made it onto the CD. Licensing issues? I don't know. All four songs are in the piano book (I'm assuming as separate songs), but damnit I REQUIRE It's My Life/Confessions Part II on a CD!

I'm confused... the mashups are tracks 20 - 21 on my copy of Volume 1...

Okay... the one I have ends at Defying Gravity. I see on iTunes that "I Say A Little Prayer" is on the iTunes version, but it's not on my hard copy, weirdly.

And no version I can find has 21 songs. o_O

I'm not a Journey fan but I love their Don't Stop Believin'. True Colors was also one of my faves.
