Seriously?

I'm pleasantly shocked that the NFL has recognized that their overtime system is broken, and that allowing the team that wins a coin flip, drives a few yards, and hits a field goal to win isn't much better than a hockey shootout. And while I'm not a fan of different rules for playoffs, that seems like the place to start.

But of the four teams that voted against it, I wouldn't have expected the Vikings to be one of them. That just seems like a massive form of denial.

What percentage of games are won by the home team? About the same? Next, let's end teams playing at home...

It's not 'broken', it's simple and has worked for decades.

What's the proposal? If the first possession doesn't get a touchdown, the other team get one possession if the first lot scored a FG/safety. If they score more, they win. If they score less, they lose. If it's a tie, keep going until someone scores.

Yeah, that's easy.

I dislike the new rule. Either go to the college overtime format or leave it alone. Defence wins championships for a reason. It will also force teams famed for not spending money on good kickers to pay for one: Cowboys... take notice of this.

I think a hockey shootout is a lot more fair than the current NFL rules.

Each team gets an equal number of shots.
