Via [livejournal.com profile] rollick, here's Profiles in Bullshit, "Ground Zero Mosque" Edition.

A couple of great lines:

"When even the words you use to describe an issue are fraudulent, that's a good signal that no one should be paying any attention to you.

"Any time you find yourself burning books, whatever the issue is, you're on the wrong side of it."

Great post - I actually used the "laundry list of why people need to SFTU about this" as a response to someone on FB just now.

I went looking for a list of the organizations that have come out in support of the building and was surprised that I couldn't quickly find one. All I kept getting were the usual OMG OMBAMA SUPPORTS THIS!!! "news articles" (and I use that term loosely).

I work with tea party people who paraded the obama thing out. When I expressed my shock that oh my god the President is supporting the Constitution, they issued their usual mantra about me being beyond hope and walked away. Lucky me

Without having looked at the link, I have to admit I have been tempted to burn a book once.
It was a Rush Limbaugh book available for free at a particular dining spot which gives away free books when you dine there, most of them old or out of date; but I *did* have the urge.
