Not surprisingly, given the Showtime focus, today's Deal of the Day at Amazon is on The L-Word, The Complete Series for $82.99 (65% off).

The Blu-Ray version of Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is down to $10.49 (47% off). The regular DVD remains $9.99, a better price, but less of a discount (33%).

The Harry Potter Years 1-6 Widescreen Gift Set is going for $34.99 (50% off, less than $6 a film)

The Pixar Sale includes 47-50% off a bunch of classics, including Finding Nemo, Cars, A Bug's Life, Monsters, Inc, and (for some reason) Ponyo.

John Lassiter is an executive producer of the English version of the film and has been instrumental in the release of other Miyazaki films, and Disney also has a production stake in the film.

Hunh. Lassiter's involvement would explain it; I'd known that Disney was involved, but figured there had to be another reason (since there aren't any other non-Pixar Disney films listed).

Excellent! We're in the weird position of using a Blu-Ray player (the PS3, as our regular DVD player is biting the dust), but having a regular TV, so we're sticking with the older tech.

I think I have a spare DVD player at this point, actually. Let me check; if so, it'd help me declutter to no longer have it....
