yendiGmail (our Gmail at work, actually) abbreviates sender names in the main screen. This is fine when it turns, say, "Brandeis University Libraries" into "Brandeis University Libr." It's not quite as useful when it turns "IBM SPSS Predictive Analytics" into IBM SPSS Predictive Anal."
