This kind of thing bugs the hell out of me. Especially with modern javascript widgets that will completely munge your input if you include a dash or slash in an input field or try to tab on your own. Some of us do significant amounts of data entry at work and have habits about these things.
It's the 21st century, processing power is plentiful and cheap. Write your scripts to accept multiple input types and then deal with it on the back side, dammit.
