Two items to read

Joe Posnaski -- easily the best sportswriter around these days, and one of reasons I visit CNNSI more than ESPN* -- has a wonderful piece on the Tara Sullivan/Augusta Golf Club situation, beautifully highlighting both the problems with the club, and the ugly and banal nature of internet comments on news sites.
2. Gary Groth takes down Jim Shooter's assorted claims about Jack Kirby. Groth will never, ever be accused of being as nice or as eloquent as Posnaski, but in this case, his tone seems appropriate.
*The fact that ESPN hides most of its columns behind a combination of a paywall and awful site navigation is another big factor, of course.
