yendiApparently, Charlie Finley's original plan for '76 was to trade Joe Rudi, Vida Blue, Rollie Fingers, Gene Tenace, and Sal Bando to the Red Sox for Carleton Fisk and Fred Lynn.
Man, that would have changed things.
Of course, Lynn and Rudi were traded for each other a few years later, but that trade didn't have nearly as much impact (although it did help the '82 Angels make the playoffs).
