1. Todd Akin's fucking obscene accusations that non-pregnant women are tricked into abortions continue, and he's using a known fraud as a source.

2. Meanwhile, Orson Scott Card has decided to focus on the racist, Islamaphobic side of himself instead of the homophobia he's been embracing so much recently. It's so nice to see that he's multidimensional.

'we often scared women into getting services they did not need including abortion so we could collect the fees. This included women who were not pregnant'

I know it's in English, but I can't parse it.

Shouldn't Akin be ok with non-pregnant abortions (I can't even type that without thinking about how stupid it is)? I mean, there's no "baby" there to be "killed," right?

Card has clearly gone off the deep end. He hasn't so much drunk the Kool-Aid as umped into a pool of it and tried to turn that pool into a river of the stuff. *shudder* He is so wrong on so many levels and about so much that it's scary. If he thinks that people really act those ways for those reasons and that he obviously knows more than the diplomatic and intelligence corps, I don't need to read any more of his fiction. Which, sadly, includes his opinion columns.

As for Akin, the man clearly needs to be turned into a woman for ten months. Well, OK, not needs, but I find his lack of both empathy and scientific knowledge... disturbing.

Card argues that neo-Cons are Jews. SEriously, he makes that argument in his screed (that was the point at which I stopped reading). Has he not noticed Romney? Pat Robertson?

I need an icon for "boggling".

These pricks always fucking drive me nuts with this "obama is anti-american" shit. Theres absolutely NO evidence of this!!! And his foreign/military policy isnt really that different from GWB's!!!!! The only difference is he isnt kissing Israel's ass and yelling "America, Fuck Yeah" every 10 minutes!!!!

Actually he is kissing Israel's ass. He's just not doing it as much as the opportunistic Republicans claim that he should.

And he's the only president who has left Israel the fuck alone when it came to peace talks.

Well, yeah. To republicans, anything but the most vocal, constant, unwavering support of Israel means "I hate Israel".

Great. Now I feel that much stupider for reading Card. Wonderful.

So wrong on so many levels. We won the Iraq war? All Muslim countries are Islamist? Obama has done nothing against Iran? Computer viruses and political sanctions are nothing? Osama Bin Laden has won even though he's dead? Obama is just like Chamberlain if Chamberlain was responsible for shooting Hitler in the eye?

Seriously fucking moronic blather. Maybe a man who doesn't know the difference between Turkey and Syria (or the fact that Muslim Libyans basically kicked out the militias from the compounds because they were even more pissed off about Ambassador Stevens than any Republican could hope to fake) should stop trying to lecture people on policy.

Reading this sort of garbage by Akin, Card and company.
Most of the hopes i had for the 2000's seem to be quickly flushing down the shallow end of the gene pool, which by now must be the size of Lake Michigan.

Wow. See when I first started seeing the headlines, I just assumed that because Akin is an idiot he confused getting a D&C as treatment for incomplete miscarriage with D&C as elective termination. It's pretty much the same tools and same procedure either way. But uh. Yeah, no.
