It ain't perfect, but it's there. I'm happy that my taxes ensure that everyone in this country has access to excellent medical care, and I've been quite pleased with my NHS experience. In the almost 13 years I've lived in the UK, I've undergone two very successful surgeries and haven't had to worry about how to pay the bill. As I'm hypothyroid and take daily medicine for the rest of my life, I don't even have to pay the £7.65 prescription fee.
The Americans I hear putting down socialised medicine don't seem to have ever experienced it. *sigh*
