Fraud at the New York Times

I hope to see this story covered on this week's On the Media. Times reporter John Broder outright made stuff up to get a better story here, and he's been called in it. With backing data.

I'm also not surprised to hear that the Top Gear folks were also far from ethical.

To be fair, Top Gear is hardly a car review show anymore - it's an entertainment show where very expensive cars get driven very fast, or where they build a car by hand to try and do some weird feat, or where some celebrity comes on to drive their standard car around a track.

That said, we expect better of the New York Times.

To sum up, the driver made it from DC to Boston on 1 charge in Milford, CT. He let the car charge the full hour and made the 2nd 1/2 of the trip with no issues. He did suggest Tesla put a super charging station on the Jersey Turnpike, which they are apparently working on however, their first priority was having enough charging stations to make the trip.
