The narrator of the song "One Week," by Barenaked Ladies, is actually Doctor Manhattan. It explains the random pop culture references, the strange observances, and the narrator's awareness of events that happen in the future as well as the past and present.

I happened to be backstage with them once when they were doing a tour of bookstores. I was blown away by how fast they could talk and how they could conduct multiple interviews as once, going from reporter to reporter with random pop culture references, strange observances, and the like. One was arrested for cocaine possession within one week of that event...
