Black Sails

gwynraven and I watched the pilot of Black Sails last night. I enjoyed it enough to watch at least the second episode, but the title sequence is just killer. Having music by Bear McCreary (BSG, Walking Dead, etc) helps a lot.

Holy crap, that's impressive. It also sounds like the same guy who did the theme for Hell on Wheels. I've never heard of this show; maybe it hasn't come to Canada, or maybe it's on a channel I don't get. I'll look around...

It only debuted here on Saturday; I think it'll be on Superchannel up in Canada.

Assuming IMDB/Wikipedia are accurate, it's not from the same artist who did Hell On Wheels; I'm guessing it's just a good time for TV music composers. :-)

I have to watch this. MARK RYAN! I saw the first 10 minutes of the pilot, and just kept GIGGLING. Mostly cos I've known Mark for 20+ years and it deeply weird to see a guy I have consummed vast amounts of liquor with as a gruff & tough pirate.

He is, in fact, probably the most gruff and tough of the cast (other than maybe Anne Bonny).

Nope, Vimeo's not region locked (unlike Hulu). Wow. That's amazing. I'll have to see when/if we're getting this show.
