If you make a silly but popular app whose sole appeal is idly "checking in" to places when I've got nothing better to do, and you then decide your app's going to be for something else entirely, and that I should install a new app to do this other thing that's been your bread and butter?

There's a chance, approaching 100%, that I'll never get around to installing that app, and a similar chance that I'll just nuke the now-useless app I've got installed.

Also, I grew up calling the game "box ball," anyway.

If you like the old app, why can't you keep using it (and tell it to no longer update itself)?

They won't let me; it literally won't let me check in anywhere, and just pops up a message telling me to get the new one.

(Might be easier if I were dealing with something other than Android on the Kyocera Rise, which is an OS/"smartphone" combo that I suspect is a stealth ad for iOS.)
