yendiGods, have I mentioned how much I love Dar Williams? I've been listening to a whole bunch of her songs on iTunes this morning. I still remember buying her second album (Mortal City) on the same day as Boys for Pele. I totally figured that the Tori album would have been the better one. After a week of attempting to listen to BfP, I gave up and put Mortal City on. It took me about one song to get hooked. "As Cool as I am" is still one of my all-time favorite songs by any artist, and the rest of the CD lives up to it.
And, alas, my love of Tori, though still strong (nothing can ever take away Little EarthQuakes or Under the Pink), hasn't recovered fully. BfP was quite possible the worst album I ever listened to more than once, and of her followups, only Strange Little Girls really struck me as a good album.
