What song...
reminds you of an ex-lover?: "Sound Strange," and "Hold Me," both by Captain Tractor.
reminds you of an ex-friend: "Walking on Broken Glass," by Annie Lennox. I haven't heard from my friend Andrew in years, thanks to a combination of stubbornness and attrition on both of our parts. He used to play this song over and over and over. I can't say that this aspect of him is one that I miss. :-)
makes you cry: "Cat in the Cradle" I'm a weak point for anything that addresses relationships with fathers.
makes you laugh: Anything by Weird Al or Moxy Fruvous.
makes you wanna dance: Nothing. I don't dance. But if I had to pick something, "Cowtown," by TMBG makes me tap my feet.
reminds you of the one you love: "Along Comes a Woman," Chicago; "Let My Love OPen the Door," Pete Townsend; "She's Always a Woman," Billy Joel.
you wish you wrote: Umm. All the good ones.
you never want to hear again: "Who Let the Dogs Out," "Hit Me Baby One More Time" (or any of the clones of that song), anything by Creed, anything by Nirvana other than "Smells Like Teen Spirit".
you want to get married to: "Let My Love Open the Door," again.
makes you want to mosh/bang your head: "Enter Sandman," "American Jesus," "Smells Like Teen Spirit."
sums up your teenage years: Tough one. My teenage years were boring and crappy. No song would ever be written about someone with my teenage years, because they were just too dull.
you used to hate but now love: "Patience," by GnR; "You Better You Bet," by the Who; "Pretty in Pink."
you like out of your parents record collection: Mom's entire showtunes collection
you love that you wouldn't know about if it wasn't for a friend: "Happy When it Rains," by the Jesus and Mary Chain, which I only heard about because I was raving about "Only Happy When it Rains" (by Garbage) to a friend.
reminds you of your first crush: "Desperate But not Serious," by Adam Ant, because it not only summed up some of my feelings, but it was a hit right around then.
makes you think of the moon: "Bad Moon Risin'"
makes you think of Stars: "Waiting for a Star to Fall," Boy Meets Girl
makes you think of the sun: "Here Comes the Sun"
makes you think of the night:"Because the Night," either version.
makes you think of sex: "Walk this World," Heather Nova; any live performance by Tori; Any song off of Garbage's first CD.
makes you think of being alone: "Someday," and "This Time Tomorrow" Captain Tractor; actually, about half their songs do that to me. "This Time Tomorrow" has some of the sharpest break up lines -- "Did you rehearse how you would say how you'd be missing me?" and "Because the sentiment of your silent smile/Has silently been killing me all the while/What I would give to get inside your skull/Sort through all of the things that you haven't said" just stab at me.
you love to hear at clubs: I don't club. Unless you hand me a stick and put me in front of John Ashcroft, in which case I'll be glad to club him.
has only been released recently but you love already: Um. Haven't bought a new CD since the last Garbage and Dar ones came out, I think. And I don't listen to the radio.
