Weighty issues
Sep. 7th, 2002 02:16 pmI just put on the black shirt that I got for my birthday, one of the few pieces of clothing I owned that
shadesong had mentioned making me look sexy (or sexier than normal, since she weirdly finds me attractive).
It was tight. Very tight. I looked obese and disgusting (which might, coincidentally, have something to do with being obese and disgusting). I've been eating like a pig for the last few weeks, and it really shows.
If you all do not see a post here by this time next week saying how I've started Weight Watchers, kick me in the ass. Hard.
And if anyone has any feelings on the At Home program vs. the Online program (I'm leaning towards the former), let me know. the meetings just aren't my cup of tea.

Date: 2002-09-07 05:06 pm (UTC)As for me? I'm following a neat little diet program from Men's Health called "The Belly-Off Program." It's pretty much a common sense diet. Avoid processed foods, in favor of whole foods. Eat more protein than carbs and more carbs than fat. So far I've lost about two inches off my waist, and that's without doing the exercises like I should. There's even Online support if you want to sign up for it, but the big selling point for me was that the BOP was created with men in mind.

I'm sorry. -_- I just got off the plane and am at my parents' house, is my excuse.

Date: 2002-09-08 09:59 am (UTC)You already know I'm a big advocate of it--nice, balanced eating, no crazy not-eating-one-thing, and I've lost 40lbs since February. Though I could have lost more this summer, I've been slacking.
Good luck, honey!

Date: 2002-09-08 11:02 am (UTC)And it's a good one! :-)
Seriously, one of the reasons I'm thinking Weight Watchers is that I already know I want to lose weight. My goal is acting on it. So going to a place to get told I should lose weight doesn't benefit me.

Date: 2002-09-09 12:19 pm (UTC)I don't expect to ever be thin...I look too much like my bio-mom for that to happen. Most people look at me and would never believe that I'm so close to 300, but I can feel it. Under 250 would make me happy (and make my life insurance premium go down!), under 200 would make me ecstatic. I haven't been under 200 since I was 25, I don't think.
Swimming every morning has been helpful!

Date: 2002-09-09 12:33 pm (UTC)What is strange, is that I don't FEEL like I weigh as much as I do. And everyone around me (well, almost everyone), says I don't look anywhere near that heavy. Being about 5'10" helps quite a bit.
Anyway, my goal right now is 225 by my birthday, which is Feb 19th.
