So, on the off chance you missed me (ha!), I suffered the worst of fates -- my wonderful M$ Intellimouse died yesterday (right in the middle of Warcraft, no less).

So, although I could get online last night, I was managing purely by keyboard, and didn't really do much surfing.

As for what's been happening:

Last night was Buffy/Slashville/Gilmore night, with [livejournal.com profile] shadesong, [livejournal.com profile] gladstone, [livejournal.com profile] mightywombat, and [livejournal.com profile] bheansidhe all in attendance. Shows were fun, as was the company.

[livejournal.com profile] shadesong had the teacher conference impromtu yesterday when she picked up Elayna from school, which meant that I didn't have to worry about it today, which was a blessing (in the lazy sense) and a curse (in the sense that I wanted to be there for it). So that freed up my day today.

Today, I caught a ride into work with [livejournal.com profile] shadesong and swiped an extra mouse from the office. Went to the post office to mail an international package (stupid PO won't let Mailboxes and other stores handle international mail over one pound). Grabbed some sushi for lunch from Whole Foods (they're the only supermarket with good sushi around here), walked home, plugged in the mouse, played lots of Warcraft. Also called the Salvation Army to pick up more crap, and then settled down to read.

Or so I thought.

Two hours after starting to read, I woke up. Took me until now to really kick off the post-nap grogginess.

So yeah. That was my day. Tomorrow, the furnace folks are coming to make sure the heat's okay, and, um, that's it.

Aren't you all jealous of the excitement?

I'm not burning with jealousy over your exciting life, but I did miss your posts. It's been quiet here in general lately. Not that I've been contributing much.

I've been looking for an intelligent Buffy community here – something more than people posting as the characters, or drooling over Spike (I really don't get the attraction; he's got the bad-boy thing going on, but I think he's awfully homely). I'm sort of curious about some aspects of the show (which I only started watching toward the middle of last season) and Joss Whedon's understanding of what a soul is. Unfortunately, when I did a search on "Buffy" as an interest, I got the prerequisite thousand users, and about four forums, all of which were for role-play. I don't suppose you've run across anything suitable here?

Aha. I picked up the boxed set of season 1 cheap, but it's on a huge heap of review copies of stuff I haven't had time for, and is very much in line behind the Miyazaki film collection which I haven't had time for. *sigh* I do plan to pick up the other boxed sets at some point (Spun.com is my friend when it comes to cheapish used DVDs), so maybe someday I'll get it all sorted out.
