So, after not getting nearly enough sleep last night (woke at least three times, had nightmares), I woke to Elayna telling me she was worried about missing the bus. Although I know I set the alarm, it was off -- either [livejournal.com profile] shadesong or I was so tired, that one of us had crossed the room and turned it off, and gotten to sleep without remembering.

I burned through the morning chores, got two lunches made and packed, got the kid dressed, got [livejournal.com profile] shadesong up (not easy, as she was out until 2), got coffee made, ate breakfast, made breakfast for Shadesong, got Elayna's hair brushed and ponytailed, grabbed a to-go breakfast for her, and managed to get her to the bus at the normal time, even after waking up half an hour late.

I am so the universe's errand bitch.

The sacrifices made included showering (yesterday was low-exertion), and my usual long email and LJ check. Will do the latter two at work.

It's really a Monday, isn't it? Somehow, our mornings sound quite similar, maybe we're on the same cycle for the fates... Kinda like we're the stars of their favorite show on Comedy Central?

Anywho......

Eek -- sorry to have aided and abetted in keeping your squeeze out so late.

Although I know I set the alarm, it was off -- either shadesong or I was so tired, that one of us had crossed the room and turned it off, and gotten to sleep without remembering.

I have done this so many times...

Having a second alarm set to go off 11 minutes after the first (11 min. because the standard snooze length is 9-10 min) actually helps. O' course, sometimes I turn off both.

You may gather I've had it happen frequently...

I had three this morning, and still slept until about 20 minutes before I have to leave!

My gracious! You are a dedicated sleeper, aren't you :-)?

Yep, done the same thing with two, so I'd probably do exactly that with three...

When you're supposed to be at work in the middle of what is your sleep cycle....getting up is hard. My body clock is set to sleep 6-7 hours, but those hours are best from about 2 am to about 8-9 am.

And I've tried going to bed early. There is no sleeping, only lying there.

Last night was partly because I slept poorly, though - I remember waking up with terror-chills around 5 am, something about a car accident, I think.
