Saw the German import flick Die Another Day (which, translated, is "The Another Day"). Was very nifty. Seriously, one of the better Bond films I've seen. Halle Berry turned in an awful performance, but following Denise Richards, she still seemed flawless.

Okay, I'm off the soapbox. It's not like other networks don't fuck over good shows (UPN and Special Unit 2, anyone?). But Fox seems to specialize in it. I'm not even mentioning The Lone Gunmen, for instance. Or Family Guy back when the original creators were still with it.

The news about Firefly wouldn't have upset me much two months ago. The first couple of episodes were forgettable, and Joss's too-literal take on the Western metaphor irked me something fierce.

But the show improved steadily with each new episode, and last week's was especially strong. Much better than Trek at its best.

This is a damned shame.

My reaction to FF was exactly like yours -- after two or three weeks, I was ready to write it off. I really wonder if the show would have taken off if they'd aired the original movie (airing next Friday) to kick off the season instead.

Oh, this completely sucks. I hate Fox. I'm never watching anything on their network ever again, unless it's made by Joss, but hopefully he'll have learned his lesson and not give them the opportunity to screw him again. Grrr!
