One last chance to log on before tomorrow night. Not much news, really. We went through Gabu's things yesterday, which was bad, but something I could steel myself for, at least. Found some stuff (like her prayer book) that instantly brought back memories of 25 years ago. It's just a weird feeling.

Had the rehearsal dinner for the wedding last night (at which I got to meet Seth McFarlane, co-creator of Family Guy). Have eaten some damned good meals here (including one of the best of my life on Thursday night -- a Thai-influenced ceviche followed by a Hawaiian sea bass encrusted with plantains on a bed of spinach), and got to go through twelve boxes of my old stuff that Mom packed up when she moved here ten years ago. Found all sorts of nifty things there, including some comics I'd long assumed were gone, some great books (including an inscribed copy of The New Essentials cookbook, the very first DC Blue Ribbon Digest I ever owned, the issue of LSH I was telling

shadesong about last week, and an anthology containing a story by

murnkay's dad), and other nifty stuff. Too much to bring back now, although I grabbed a few bunches. I also grabbed some sugar packets for

penguinboi's ongoing project. :-)

We're off to the wedding soon. Should be fun.

And I'm missing out on Crescent Moon again. :-( Anyone feel like brunching with me next weekend?

I'm logging off now -- won't be on again until tomorrow night, and probably won't catch up on comments and mail until Monday, at the earliest. Maybe later, depending on how badly jetlag nails me.
