From a Columbia/Tristar email:

Thanks to those of you participating in the TV poll. Based on the overall selections, we have now planned to put out a number of the titles chosen. Please look for The Tick, Soap, Newsradio, Dilbert and more to be released on DVD later this year. Thank you again for your selections, your opinions

This is the live-action Tick, which, if not as good as Fox's animated one, is still nifty. And Dilbert was a damned funny cartoon (much better than it had a right to be). Soap, of course, is the funniest sitcom ever. And I like Newsradio, too, although I doubt I'd waste money on it. But three out of four ain't bad.

Dilbert is already available on DVD in the UK, FWIW.

Why would they collect the live action Tick and not the animated? different companies?

The fact that Fox owns the Animated Tick means it's going to come out eventually, and when it does, it will have been worth the wait. Fox just seems to "get" the whole DVD release thing, even if they tend to be a bit on the slow side sometimes.

Hah, the will of UN triumphs again. Those are the ones I voted for.

They also happen to be the best of the lot, so not a huge surprise.

/un starts making his Chritmas list.

You know what I want on DVD? (Besides Homicide, that is.) The X-Men cartoon from the mid-'90s on Fox. LOVED it.

Personally, I'd like to see Northern Exposure...especially as I missed the first season altogether...
