Great article. I'm enough of a vampire geek to already be aware of Carmilla, though I think I'll be checking out his other stuff as well as Chambers soon.
Thanks! Yeah, Carmilla is pretty well-known, but I've been surprised at how many folks hadn't heard of it. I've actually met folks who assumed that Lovecraft wrote The King in Yellow, since they made a module from it for the Call of Cthulhu game.
And creeped me out...I was in a used bookstore a few days ago, with a list that included Le Fanu and Chambers. I was specifically looking for good older horror to read. Wow. :)
