*sigh* I think it is that people just want life to be *simpler*, not more primitive.... aah, 'tis a complex subject, and I'm not awake enough to do it justice yet...
Oh, I know. I just always find it amusing when they couch it in technological terms.
I understand the urge for simplicity, but I also think it's our curse as humans to always move forward on a complexity scale (even if we take brief steps backward in other ways).
The problem is when more tech just makes it worse (Microsoft; also, the airlines' ability to run credit checks when you buy a ticket...)
High tech is cool when it facilitates high touch (community/relationship building) or actually really gives us more time to pursue same... anything else is an annoyance at best... this includes most television...
