Grr. Just went to the Amazon page to add a new anthology that I need to my wish list (new Kage Baker, Michael Bishop, Joe Lansdale, Lucius Shepard, Howard Waldrop, and Neil Barrett, Jr stories).

And the Publishers Weekly review has this phrase:

Some authors bring back favorite settings and characters, like Kage Baker in his tale of scavenging Company time-travelers,

Jesus fucking Christ. Kage's bio appears on all of her books, and if you write a review that pretends to be familiar with the author, at least do five seconds of fucking research!

Grr. If this was a user review, it'd be okay. But professional reviews are supposed to be, well, professional.

Perhaps it was a typo for this story?

Er, tale, not story. Sorry, I didn't sleep much last night. I'll stop rambling now.

Good one, Publisher's Weekly!

That said, I've really enjoyed her Company tales that have appeared in Asimov's (or is it Analog?)

It's Asimov's, and they're released a collection in hardcover so you can have 'em all in one place!

*sigh* Then there are entire books that make it to publication without being spell-checked....

Me an' you, kid, we gotta keep the fat cats honest...

(I don't care how rushed for time I am, it goddamn well goes thru spell-check before I hit "send"... and if I don't know, I take thirty seconds and google it. Hell, that goes for most stuff I do on here, where it doesn't count!) (I don't spellcheck on here, but I do fact-check.... :)

Read okay to me at first, but that's because I have a character named Kage and he's a he, and I always think of "Kage" as male. I was so surprised to find out someone else had the name. Haven't had the opportunity to read any of her work, though.

Kee-rist. That sort of incompetence makes me want to scream.

The other day I saw a paperback copy of Nancy Kress's "Beggars In Spain", and noticed with horror that the title on the spine was spelled "Beggers". The cover was correct, though.
