Crossgen shakeup
Oct. 17th, 2003 08:22 pmWow. The following titles are ending with the big "War" crossover:
Crux
The First
Meridian
Mystic
The Path
Ruse
Scion
Sigil
Solus
CG is spinning this as "always intended," which is pretty clearly horseshite (since at least one title, Solus, is ending before two issues that have been solicited get released). And they've fired about twelve more folks, including Ron Marz, which is too bad, as Marz's only good work came with this company, and he pretty much gave his all for them.
Anyone else remember Valiant?

Date: 2003-10-21 01:35 pm (UTC)Considering how the numbers have gone, I'd have to say that, his faithlessness aside, he's made the right decision. Comics as a business is once again floundering, with only the top two keeping their heads above water.
I can't say I'll be inviting the git out for beers anytime soon... but I can't really blame anyone for getting out while the getting is good, especially if their heart isn't really in it anymore. He said number one, and he's not. If it's that important to him, I say arivederci, Marco.
Meanwhile, I'll just hang in there, hoping the indies hang in there long enough to bring this crap around.
Maybe after Marvel runs out of characters to make movies out of, we can get back to the job of reminding North Americans that comics aren't just capes and masks. *sigh*
L o L,
a little down on it
