Last night's horror movies.
Oct. 19th, 2003 01:07 pmSo, last night Shadesong got me to watch The Others. I quite enjoyed it. Mind you, many of the "twists" were utterly predictable, but the overall movie was well worth watching. Definitely a movie that's more about the atmosphere than anything else.
I then found that my lovely Tivo had recorded Cutting Class, a movie I had fond memories of from high school. I'd forgotten that it starred both Donovan Leitch and Brad Pitt (as well as Nice Girl Scream Queen Jill Schoelen). It also featured Roddy McDowell and Martin Mull. It's a cheesy horror spoof, cut from the same cloth as Student Bodies, Pandemonium, etc. Not great overall, but it still has some fun scenes, including a nifty setup for a murder involving a math word problem. Worth catching if it's on cable again (I caught it on The Mystery Channel, although figuring out who the killer is isn't exactly a mystery).
Oh, and Season 4 of Babylon 5 comes out in January. What the hell were they thinking? This is exactly the sort of high-priced box set that's meant to be purchased as a Xmas/Chanukah/Kwanzaa/Solstice gift. Who releases a box set in January? Feh.
Won't be on LJ much today.
shadesong is at Aids Walk Atlanta, and I'm keeping the child entertained (or at least out of too much trouble). So far, that's involved food and Lego. Not together, thankfully.
Oh, and my not-so-lovely Tivo fucked up the recording of the GL Duck Dodgers episode. So I'm trying again tonight.
