So, talking to co-worker S today about a big lunch meeting, which co-worker S1 is also attending.

S: Since no one else responded to my email, we get to pick the pizza toppings.
me: Where are we ordering from.
S: Savage.
me: Oh, they've got that great chicken florentine one.
S: Yeah, but [S1] doesn't eat any meat but ham.
Me: [blinks]

Seriously, who the fuck only eats ham?

Anyway, we decided that since she hadn't responded, and since we were also getting a vegetarian piazza (the sundried tomato one), that we just didn't care.

I only eat ham!

At least, on my pizza. As a general rule, I am against ingredients. For a long time I would eat only cheese pizza, but then I remembered about ham. My friends are much happier now that we can share something that's not quite so lame. Although I do still like a good ol' plain cheese pizza every once in a while.

I have heard of people eating chicken and fish and no other meat, but like only ham? That is a bit odd considering ham and pork has the same texture and flavor as human meat (why most religions outlaw pork in primative times).

It's not all I eat, but I like it a whole lot better than most other meats. Certainly it's the only meat I like on pizza 95% of the time. *shrug* But then, I prefer a veggie or cheese pizza, really.

Yeah, but once you've tasted chicken, you've tasted everything else.

Supposedly, pigs and people are in many ways similar. I've even heard that we taste the same.

So...maybe S1 is a cannibal in rehab.

I used to know somebody who would only eat poultry "because they are nasty, horrible feathery things that deserve to die"

Can you clarify ham in this instance, in case of transpondial confusion? Ham to me means either - a) a joint of pig that has been cured, boiled and sliced, comes out a nice pink/red colour with texture and flavour, or b) bits of pig that have been steamed, boiled, "cured" with artificial chemicals, extruded into squares and has all the taste and texture of a used latex glove...

Heh. I had a table at work ready to leave last night because the couldn't find anything they wanted on the entire Lone Star menu, except for chicken tenders, which are only on the lunch and kids menu.

The manager let him have chicken tenders.
