I've mentioned the free book stack at the Library before, and how nifty it is. Between donated books that the Library can't use, books that folks just bring in, and other stuff, I've found some great stuff (I also throw the occasional book I can't use onto the shelf, of course).

Today, I found two nifty ones.

First, a copy of The I Ching Workbook just about brand new, aside from an inscription on the title page. No, I'm not a believer, but I love expanding my mythology shelf.

But that was nothing compared to the other find. I snagged a near-perfect copy of Jane's Fighting Ships 1990-91. Yeah, it's twelve years out of date. It's still a great reference. Current editions of Jane's books go for over $500. I don't know if I'll ever write anything that will use this as a reference, but it's great reference book to have, Just In Case.

The Jane's books are incredible references to just read through. My Grandfather had a copy of fighter aircraft. When he passed away, I asked for it as I remember spending hours on end just flipping through the book, reading about the planes and their specifics.

Coo, if I'd known that, I'd have bought some of the modern ones too when my local library got rid of their set.

The Jane's books are great. I recommend using a copy of Jane's Infantry Weapons to distract any gamer who does modern or post-atomic. They will ooh and aah for hours.
