Impeccable timing
Nov. 28th, 2003 09:29 amSo, the ickiness that hit me two days ago morphed into some sort of nasty cold yesterday. I damned near fainted on my first trip to Kroger (ironically while reaching for the Dayquil). Medicine got me through the day (although standing for about seven hours straight certainly wasn't making things easier). We cooked about a zillion desserts and a few side dishes, and everyone (and my brain's not working well enough to list "everyone," but I don't doubt that
shadesong will when she wakes up) seemed to enjoy the food. By early evening, though, I could barely breathe, and had to dose myself with Nyquil. For some reason, Nyquil doesn't put me in a coma like it does to others. Rather, I tend to have a very restless sleep, waking up every half hour or so, with my mind racing a lot faster than my body is capable of keeping up with. So yeah, a long night.
I was woken up this morning because the neighbors decided to mow their fucking lawn at 8:45, something they should be shot for.
Currently, my major issue seems to be my ears being incredible stuffed and full of pressure. Hope I can make it through a normal day. I really hate being sick on holidays and days off from work. It's just not right.
Off to medicate, and maybe eat.

Date: 2003-11-28 06:36 am (UTC)Anyway, I digress. I usually got knocked out by Nyquil, but then took it once and reacted like you. I hated that so much I won't take it anymore; I take dayquil at night if I need something.
Hope you feel better soon!

Date: 2003-11-28 07:23 am (UTC)Then I decided NyQuil was the most expensive way to treat a cold anyway, since usually I have maybe 2 of the 4 symptoms treated at any given time...it comes out much more economically to buy generics of the 4 active ingredients and just take the ones I need. And I don't wind up tossing and turning all night.

Date: 2003-11-28 11:13 am (UTC)Shoot your neighbors. Twice. =P Mowing at 8:45 is a sin. Why couldn't they just go shopping instead?
*hugs* Feel better!
