If it's Tuesday, it must be random
Dec. 2nd, 2003 09:26 amYeah, got some sleep yesterday. About five hours worth, enough to get me through the night.
Saw a screening of The Last Samurai last night with
jet_li_wannabe, Tracy, and Jerry. It was surprisingly fun. Not Oscar material (but then again, neither were Dances with Wolves or Gladiator), but a good movie. And after the first twenty minutes or so, Tom Cruise stops playing Tom Cruise, and the characters become fun to follow.
I've started watching Geneshaft on TechTV's Anime Unleashed. I'm enjoying what I've seen of it so far, even if it's a bit formula. Decent dubbing, and if I have to watch dubbed anime, I'd rather watch the Tech TV stuff than the stuff that gets aired on most of the other networks.
I'm currently reading Small Pieces Loosely Joined, paid for by work (yay!), but a good read for anyone who's out there on the web at all. Not a lot of new information, but Weinberger does a nice job of organizing some pre-existing concepts.
Links:
Kinky Friedman is running for Governor of Texas!. Gotta love him.
There's a good (although occasionally veering into silly, as when it asks whether the writers whose books are stocked think of themselves as scabs) article on the massively underreported Borders strike over here (scroll down to the Nov 23 link).
As always, please remember to join my army. You can do so once a day.
Also, feel free to join the armies of my officers (which also helps me). Grimcat, Lissell, SFF_Corgi, Gladstone, and Ariela could all use recruits, and there's no limit to how many armies you can join in a day.
I'm sure I'll have more randomness when I return from my meeting.

We should start a comunity for this. :-)
Better yet, when the game resets in January, we should get all the LJ players to ally. I've got some ideas for an alliance with three main branches - rank-climbers, battle berserkers, and spies.
