I haven't been posting my Hanukkah haul for the most part, but tonight's set of gifts deserves some mention, as it may be the best group ever.
It started with a homemade snowflake from Elayna, something everyone needs.
It was then followed by the special edition DVD of Escape From New York, one of my favorite movies of all time, courtesy of my mom.
Mom also got me the limited edition of Natalie Merchant's The House-Carpenter's Daughter, a CD from her new indie label with covers of classic folk songs (including Crazy Man Michael!). I've been looking for this one for a while now.
She also got me the new Tori Amos collection (bonus edition + DVD), Tales of a Librarian, which I naturally needed to own (even if there's an excess of stuff from Boys from Pele on it.
From
shadesong: Meet Mr. Product: The Art of the Advertising Character (a book that I'd wanted for a while, but never really wanted to buy for myself); the complete Tick DVD (the live-action one), which rocks, of course; And, most surprisingly of all, The Iron Chef Board Game, which I didn't even know existed, but had I known, I'd have coveted endlessly!
So yeah, a good night.
