Vlad and the Mets?

yendiWow. The last day or two has been rife with rumors that the Mets have leapt into the Vlad Guerrero race. Which seemed impossible and unlikely a few months ago.
I'm not expecting them to actually land him, frankly. I think Vlad may be happy to let them force up the O's offer. But at the very least, the push by the Mets has moved the Dodgers out of the picture, which means Vlad's not in the NL, which helps the Mets out of the gate. And if the Mets land him, well, yeah, that'd rock.
