Following up on the Kathy Cox story, the AJC is reporting that she's graciously allowed science teachers to use the "E" word again. I'll remain skeptical until I hear her full plans, though. I fully expect her to tell Math teachers to not ever talk about extracting a mathematical root for fear of offending some poor creationist who thinks that all mathematical roots were created by God.

(Edit: Yes, I know that anyone who belives in both God and math will also believe that God created all roots. But few of those folks are silly enough to be offended at the idea of evolution).

Actually, I believe Math is the work of Satan and my beliefs prohibit me from studying it.

The good Christian should beware of mathematicians and all those who make empty prophecies. The danger already exists that mathematicians have made a covenant with the devil to darken the spirit and confine man in the bonds of Hell. -- St. Augustine
